Colour Focus Mixed Media Art Challenge: Day 2

Colour focus challenge: #createdaily

“Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

― Walt Disney Company

Today is day 2 of our colour focus mixed media art challenge. We are starting each day with a quote about creativity, todays quote is by Walt Disney. Curiosity is focus of this particular quote, staying curious, always searching and always exploring, always remaining open to new ideas and concepts. To me, that is what art is about, staying curious, like  child. Absorbing your surroundings and interpreting them through artistic expression. For todays piece we created our background using a page from a modified book, turned art journal. We primed the page using our homemade gesso, you can find out how to make homemade gesso here >>>> How to make homemade gesso video

Stay curious:#createdaily

We used the dry nib of an old Sharpie pen to create paint effects using acrylic paint. We also did some collage using old pieces of scrap paper. Our final paint touch was spray paint effects using some ceramic spray paints. We then added some digital effects using Pixlr, the colour theme for this week is, blue, black and white.  Stay tuned for tomorrows piece!
