Colour Focus Mixed Media Challenge Day 4 + Wisdom Kudowor - Ghanaian Visual Artist

We form lines, lines represent invisible words, expression through visual creation. Blue, black white. #createdaily

"Without poets, without artists, men would soon weary of nature's monotony. The sublime idea men have of the universe would collapse with dizzying speed.
The order which we find in nature, and which is only an effect of art, would at once vanish. Everything would break up in chaos. There would be no seasons, no civilization, no thought, no humanity; even life would give way, and the impotent void would reign everywhere".
~Guillaume Apollinaire~

Hi, and welcome to day 4 of the colour focus mixed media art challenge. Where we post one piece of mixed media art each day. For this week we are focusing on using the colours blue, black and white, jumping outside our comfort zones and focusing on specific colours. Rather than allowing ourselves total creative freedom, we have placed a restriction on the colours and tones we can use to make it more difficult for us to "create". With challenge comes growth and progression, so let's grow, let's make progress. Let's go!

Today we are not going to focus on how we created the piece, what we used to create the piece and our inspiration behind the piece. Today we are going to focus on talking about a specific visual artist. Yes, this is a colour focus challenge and we should probably focus on talking about that. However, we also think it is important to promote and share the work of other creatives.

Today we are going to be focusing on one of Ghana's most celebrated artists, Wisdom Kudowor. Kudowor's work uses ancient symbols and aesthetic elements derived from Ghana's rich cultural heritage as a creative  tool to highlight space and structure. His work is expressive, vibrant and intense. Using a combination of styles, he creates striking imagery that has led art pundits to describe him as a "transcultural visionary".  Take a look at a couple of his pieces below:
