Colour Focus Mixed Media Art Challenge: Day 3

“The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.”
― Sylvia PlathThe Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath

Today is day 3 of our colour focus mixed media art challenge. If you are new to the blog and you don't know what the colour focus challenge is all about, head on over here >>>>>> mixed media art
challenge day 1.

Todays quote is by Sylvia Plath, one of our favourite books is The Bell Jar so we had to include a quote from her! She talks about self doubt being the enemy of creativity, and we have to agree. However, we also believe that embracing your insecurities and using them to propel your creativity rather than stifle it is also something useful to bare in mind.

Radiate: #createdaily

For todays blue, black and white mixed media piece we used a layer of collage, a layer of watercolour paint, a layer of acrylic paint and some gesso. We added one overlay using pixlr to form the digital part of the piece. We call it 'Radiate.'

Check out the video underneath the piece on mixed media art journaling. Great if you are just starting out! One last thing, for this piece we used a page from an old book instead of using a brand new piece of paper or card. If you look closely, you can still see the text peeping through, we think it adds something extra to the piece.

Join us tomorrow for day 4, follow us on Twitter and Instagram too, we post often. Oh, and we are on Facebook too. Remember to #createdaily
