Welcome to day 15 of our 30 day mixed media art challenge. We have another piece for you guys to feast your eyes on. This time we used flower pressed card, cheap card stock, gold pen, silver pen and sharpies. We photographed it using an iPad mini and added some digital overlapping using Pixlr. Glow Pink: Digital photography, spray paint and digital stylise effect 

Today is day 1 of our 'Glow Pink' mixed media series. Over the next 7 days, we will be posting a whole host of visual imagery centred around the theme 'Glow Pink'. At the moment we are experimenting with colour, exploring different themes, and examining the affect that  certain colours have on the brain. One of the inspirations behind 'Glow Pink' was the Unicolour exhibition by Carsten Nicolai we attended over the weekend. He explores the relationship between colour and sound using audiovisual technology. We noticed that certain colours such as pale blue and green made us feel calm and relaxed. However, the brighter colours such as fuchsia pink and red made us feel slightly anxious.

The colour pink is often associated with love, romance, femininity and calmness. In prisons pink is often used to calm the inmates. However, research has shown that the calming effect only lasts for a short time. Once the individual has been exposed to the colour for a longer period of time, they become more agitated and anxious.

Anyone who knows me will know that I am addicted to YouTube. I don't actually watch television these days, I am constantly on YouTube watching vlogs, documentaries, workout videos, and recipe videos. I love watching What I eat in a day vlogs, not sure why lol.  I think it's the nosey neighbour in me that just relishes the chance to sit and watch endless hours of other peoples lives. If I am not working, exercising, cooking or reading, I am watching YouTube videos. So, this post is necessary methinks! I recently went to see the amazing Jarrod Lawson Live in concert at The World Famous Jazz Cafe in London's Camden. I  had the most fantastic time. The atmosphere was electric and Jarrod and his band were out of this world. I am actually still on a musical high right now from the show! I have seen Jarrod once before in the States however, this was even better, I will definitely be going to another Jarrod Lawson concert if I get the chance to do so.  If you like Soul/Jazz music you will love Jarrod, his voice is like butter and his lyrics are extremely  powerful.

Restaurant Review: Chicchi Cafe Roman Road East London

I am always looking for cool cafes and restaurants whenever I am out and about in London.  Especially when I am working and going to meetings. The restaurant, or cafe needs to have good vegetarian or vegan options, and it needs to be reasonably priced too. Chicchi is a cool modern cafe nestled in the heart of East London's Roman Road. It is a lovely little spot, here is my review.
